It had actually slipped my mind in old age that I used to not only write plays, but also act a lot in them in highschool, playing such diverse roles as 'Annoying Little Sister', and 'Santa's Little Elf' (our teacher should have thought twice before asking us to stage a soap opera around Christmas) to the critical acclaim of assembled students, joyfully escaping actually having to work. My best role though was Suicide Adviser in a play that was about 40 minutes long and only had three actors, one of whom (not me) only had a bit part.

Office Frustration

Lots of lines all played out on about three feet square of stage space (representing a window ledge), but that one brought the house down. Recently, this talent was rediscovered when I went down to Wavebreak Media in Cork to shoot some video footage for stock. I went in for this, because I'd never been to Cork before, which was kind of embarassing considering how long I'd been in Ireland, and because I wanted to try out working in front of a video camera. Not only was it fun, I think we got some great footage.

Working Hard at the Beach

There's nothing like shooting on some of Ireland's picturesque seaside cliffs, though you do have to keep reminding yourself not to take a step back. These are a few short excerpts from the work we did. Just hover over the clips to play! The end result of this little excursion is that, yes, I do film work, and I'm quite good at it. Bookings for television commercials and bit parts in films or television shows are most welcome, speaking or silent.
